BMWs come with two different courtesy light sizes depending on model and year. Getting this right is critical — the wrong size won't fit your door.

Quickest way to check: pop out one of your current courtesy lights with a flathead screwdriver (lever gently from the bottom — it pulls straight toward you) and measure the lens diameter.

  • Measures 5 cm → you need the 50 mm version
  • Measures 6.8 cm → you need the 68 mm version

All you need is a flathead screwdriver and a cloth to protect the panel.

Open the driver's door and locate the courtesy light on the lower section of the door panel.

Wrap your screwdriver in the cloth and gently lever the light out from the bottom edge.

The light pops toward you — disconnect the electrical connector.

Connect the Codedrive LED projector to the same connector (plug & play — only fits one way).

Press the projector gently into the housing until it clicks into place.

Repeat on the other door. Done.
Prerequisite: your BMW must have factory-fitted courtesy lights (the white lights that illuminate the ground when you open the door). If your car doesn't have them from the factory, there's no connector to plug into.

Do I need a BimmerCode adapter or OBD2 tool to install these?

No. The projectors are completely plug & play. No coding required, no app, no adapter. If you also want to unlock hidden features on your BMW, that's a separate product — our Bluetooth OBD2 adapter.

Will it trigger a warning light on the dashboard?

No. Each projector has built-in CANBUS resistors so your BMW treats it exactly like a factory bulb. No fault codes, no warnings.

M Logo or BMW Roundel — what's the difference?

The M Logo projects the three-stripe sport emblem. The BMW Roundel projects the classic blue and white circle. Pick the one that matches your style — you choose it in the variant selector before adding to cart.

Does it work on all BMWs?

On most E, F, and G Series models that have factory-fitted courtesy lights. 2024+ models with exterior rocker panel lighting are not compatible. If you're unsure whether your spec has the factory lights, message us before ordering.

How many units are in the pack?
